Maria Sharapova Playing Styles And Equipment

Maria has one of the most unique styles of playing the tennis sport which has always been her passion since the early days of her childhood. Mostly because, it is an innate skill, Sharapova does not seem to follow any strict norms and plays according to her own free style. It is very well known that Maria sticks to a pre-service ritual every time she is in the court. She follows a routine which is known to some as her lucky charm, and Maria has never ever missed this in any of her matches. While she stands near the baseline, she hops and hits the ball downwards with her racquet for four consecutive times altogether. She then goes on to tuck her hair behind both of her ears before she is seen gently dropping the ball down on the ground twice.

A very interesting fact about Maria is that she is known to be ambidextrous, which means she is equally skillful with both her hands. Initially she started playing with her left hand, but then she decided to go with the right hand and is usually seen playing with the right. She is also sometimes seen using her left hand to hit the services in certain matches.

Sometime in the beginning of the year 2007 during the time of Maria's shoulder injury she was questioned several times that she was losing her playing style. She was accused of her uncharacteristic, unusual shaky servings, and also at various time double faults this season. But then she quickly recovered from that and went on hitting 9 aces in the same match with speeds going as high as 113mph which when converted to kph is 181.1kph

Maria when started her professional career in the tennis sports she used a racquet which was gifted to her by on of her family friends, she still has it safe with her because that racquet had given her several major victories, and immediate success.

Maria has used range of different racquets in her professional career. In the year 2003 Maria basically always preferred to go with the Prince Tour Diablo racquet brand, it was new and seemed to be working perfect for the young player. She then changed the racquet to several different Prince Racquet brands until the U.S open of the year 2004.

The racquet Maria used in the Wimbledon matches in the year 2004, was then gifted by her to Regis Philbin when she was taping live with Regis and Kelly.

Maria then started off to try the Prince Shark MP racquet in the Wimbledon tournament and then she went on having a major part in the production of the Shark racquet. It was in the month of January in the year 2006 when Maria started the use of the Prince O3 Whit racquet, she was well satisfied with it and this is the racquet brand Maria is still currently using in her games.

In the apparels, footwear and accessories during her games in the court, Maria is usually seen using and endorsing the products by Nike.
